When made aware of the glitch, Barone chose not to remove it, making Abigail's bizarre rock-eating habit from a mere humorous error into a facet of her canon personality. However, when players gifted Abigail with an Amethyst, she would potentially respond by asking "How did you know I was hungry?" implying that she was planning to consume the rock. In the original version of the game, Abigail's Loved Gifts included almost entirely food items, with the sole exception being the mineral Amethyst. This is far from the only glitch players have discovered related to Abigail. Responses to the post on Reddit were quick to mention the fan theory that Abigail might secretly possess magical powers as the possible secret daughter of the Wizard, joking that she was using these Wizard-inherited powers to walk through walls and keep an eye on the player at all times. The result showed Abigail moving around in a black void while the player observed her from a corner of the house. The latest glitch was shared on the Stardew Valley subreddit by a player using the name u/zwdish00. Several of these glitches have been fortunate for the players, such as one that allows access to the Secret Woods before purchasing the necessary axe upgrade or one that causes the generation of infinite treasure within the Skull Cavern dungeon. Occasionally, Stardew Valleyplayers may encounter strange occurrences that can't be explained away by the interference of the playful Junimo forest spirits or the valley's local Wizard. However, the game, which was developed almost entirely by creator Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone working alone, is not without its glitches.
